$1,343 Raised Last Weekend for Hunger May 2, 2012 - Posted by Joseph Shih
Last weekend, our church's high school students (Growing Truth), college students (New Fruit), and young adults (New Wine) fasted and did not eat for 30 hours, protesting and raising funds to help the 925 million in hunger in the world. $1,343.26 were collected, which translates to more than three hungry children sponsored for a full year each, providing food, medicine, and education for a full 365 days in which them and their families will be provided skills and tools to help them in their futures to create sustainable solutions to end their cycle of poverty.
There were 33 people from our church who participated in the activities, 27 who fasted, and 8 who spent the entire two-day 30 Hour Famine event together.
Thank you for all who participated, supported, and prayed for this event!
